Launching the City of Calgary’s newest Development Map (DMAP)

A case study addressing the impacts to user experience during the transition to the new platform

Project Overview

The City of Calgary’s Development Map (DMap) is a vital online service for public engagement on local projects. With its outdated ESRI GIS platform that was set to expire in July 2024, an interim solution was needed to prevent service disruption, mitigate legal risks, and ensure uninterrupted access to information and project approvals.

Outcomes

Successful MVP launch for the interim solution (developmentmap.calgary.ca), to be made available for public July 2024
